Description

Photographs in this collection document the history of the Greater Raleigh Court neighborhood, which includes Wasena, Virginia Heights and Norwich. Many of the photographs were published in Nelson Harris' book, Greater Raleigh Court: A History of Wasena, Virginia Heights, Norwich & Raleigh Court. All photographs in this collection were provided to the Virginia Room courtesy of Nelson Harris.

Children in front of Virginia Heights Lutheran Church. The church was the predecessor of Christ Lutheran Church. This chapel was located at what is now 1320 Grandin Road.. Built in 1917, the chapel was in use by the congregation until 1948.
