Description
In an effort to heavier freight, N&W developed the Y-6 locomotive. While retaining many of the design elements of the previous Y models, the Y-6 had a new steel frame, roller bearings, and mechanical lubrication at 213 points. A peak horsepower of 5,500 was achieved at 25mph. The Y-6 models were made between 1936 and 1940. In this photograph is Engine No. 2139.
