I spent my childhood driving past the Star twice a year as my parents drove me from DC to Tennessee to visit grandparents. Every time we drove past Roanoke, the Star called to me, and I said to myself, "When I grow up I want to live there!" Well, life went on, and finally when my adult family, including me, retired in 2007, we finally got to move to Roanoke! Home at last!
P.S The Star was born the same year I was!
