Title
SR025 Hollins College
Description
The Main Building is one of the oldest structures on the campus. The building was erected in between 1861 and 1863. The day the building was started was the same day Virginia seceded from the Union. With the onslaught of the Civil War, construction was often delayed, and the builder, David Deyerle, was not fully paid until 1882 due to the economic collapse of the South. Total cost for Main was $20,000.
